Game Developer | 3D Artist
BD-1: A World Away is my first short animation, created entirely from scratch in Blender. From modeling and rigging to animation and lighting, I handled every stage of the process in this 20-second film, making it one of my favorite projects to date.
This is an ongoing project I’m currently developing with a friend. We are creating a co-op horror game in Unreal Engine 5, focusing on both atmosphere and multiplayer gameplay. I am responsible for creating all of the game’s art and programming most of the gameplay systems, while my friend handles the multiplayer implementation and networking.
Pandalf is a fast-paced top-down roguelike released on itch.io. You play as a red panda wizard battling waves of hostile bears using powerful spells and abilities. As you progress, you earn skill points that can be used to unlock and upgrade new spells. Along the way, you’ll face increasingly challenging enemies, including honey-throwing and spear-wielding bears, as you push to see how far you can survive.
I did a six-month internship at Marin (Research Institute Netherlands), where I mainly worked on 3D modeling ships and environment assets. It was the first time I really got to focus on making art, and it’s where my interest in 3D modeling and creating game assets really grew. It was also a really cool experience to work on-site at a big company.
This is a special project created in collaboration with the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. We developed a VR prototype in Unreal Engine 5 that places the user in the Secret Annex, where they can have a conversation with Anne Frank. Here you can ask questions about her life, her family and her time during World War ||
The First Voyager is a 3D third-person platformer set on a rocky crystal planet, developed in Unreal Engine 5 using both C++ and Blueprints. The project was created as part of an 8-week school assignment where we had to build a complete game from scratch. I worked mainly on programming key gameplay systems, including player movement, abilities and combat. I also designed the level and helped creating the boss fight of the game.
Hi, I’m Milan Kruissen, 20 years old. I am a game developer based in the Netherlands and currently finishing my studies in Utrecht.
My main focus is gameplay programming, but over time I’ve also developed a strong interest in 3D art and animation. I enjoy working on both sides, combining gameplay programming with 3D art to bring my ideas to life.
I’ve worked on multiple projects during my studies and in my own time, ranging from short prototypes to more ambitious team projects. Recently, I’ve also been working on my own game, which allows me to explore both programming and art in more depth and at my own pace.
I’ve always been fascinated by how games are made and the way they create memorable experiences. That curiosity is what drew me into game development, and it still drives me to keep improving. What excites me most is how games can tell stories in such a powerful and interactive way.
